    B2B Marketing Comparisons

Most B2B marketing questions are really comparisons: which channel earns the next euro, whether an agency or an in-house hire should own the work, and whether demand should be captured or created. Each comparison below gives the short answer first, then the full reasoning behind it.

    The short answers

    DecisionShort answerDetail
LinkedIn Ads or Google Ads first?Google Ads when buyers already search for your category. LinkedIn Ads when the category is new or the buying committee has to be reached before it searches.Read
B2B SEO or paid ads?Paid ads buy demand now and prove which messages convert. SEO compounds later. Most B2B teams need paid first, then SEO on the terms paid proved worth owning.Read
How should the SEO vs paid budget split?Fund paid to a stable cost per opportunity first, then allocate a fixed monthly share to SEO. Judge both on pipeline contribution, not cost per lead.Read
SEO, Google Ads or paid social?Match the channel to demand state: search captures existing demand, paid social creates it, SEO defends the terms you already win.Read
Why does SEO vs PPC attribution mislead?Branded search and last-click reporting credit SEO with demand paid channels created. Separate branded from non-branded before comparing ROI.Read
Agency or in-house marketer? An agency when you need senior channel experience across platforms fast. An in-house hire when the workload is constant and mostly internal coordination.Read
Can a B2C playbook run on B2B?No. Committee buying, long cycles and revenue-weighted conversions change targeting, creative, budget split and what counts as a result.Read
Product-led or sales-led SaaS advertising?Product-led optimises for signups and product activation. Sales-led optimises for trust and sales-ready conversations, which changes the first conversion.Read
Demand generation or demand capture?Capture converts existing demand today. Generation creates preference for tomorrow. Most B2B budgets need both, split by category maturity.Read
G2 or Capterra for SaaS?G2 works as a comparison and credibility layer; Capterra behaves more like a paid lead source. Judge both on pipeline, not cost per lead.Read

If the question is not which channel to pick but whether the Google Ads account you already run is paying for the right searches, a B2B Google Ads audit answers that separately: €450 per account, with a written assessment and a prioritized action plan.

And if you are still sizing the commitment, our B2B marketing agency pricing page lists monthly retainers and typical B2B ad budgets per channel.

    Frequently asked comparison questions

Which channel should a B2B company start with?

Start where demand already exists. If buyers search for your category, Google Ads captures that demand at the lowest cost per opportunity. If the category is new, or the decision involves several stakeholders who are not searching yet, LinkedIn Ads builds the familiarity that makes later search convert.

How much of the budget should go to demand generation vs demand capture?

In established categories most B2B companies run roughly 60-70% on capture and the rest on generation. In emerging categories the split inverts, because there is not enough search volume to spend against. Review the split every quarter against pipeline, not leads.

Is a B2B marketing agency better than hiring in-house?

It depends on seniority versus workload. An agency gives you several channel specialists and cross-account pattern recognition immediately, which suits companies running two or more paid channels. An in-house hire makes sense when the work is continuous, internal and needs deep product context every day.

Do the same paid ads tactics work for SaaS, services and hardware?

The channels overlap but the conversion logic does not. SaaS can convert on trials or demos, service companies sell confidence in a future outcome, and hardware buyers involve procurement. Each needs a different first conversion, proof format and measurement window.
